A special deal bundling together Golden Sea and Mako's newest book, Art & Faith: A Theology of Making.

The Golden Sea monograph is a beautiful cloth-bound book, embossed with gold detail reminiscent of Fujimura’s Golden Sea painting. Designed by Darilyn Carnes of Abrams Books, it contains images of Fujimura’s paintings throughout his career. Accompanying the images are essays by Dan Siedell, Kei Tatejima, Robert Kushner, Nick Wolterstorff, Gregory Wolfe, Thomas Hibbs, Julie Hamilton, and Roberta Ahmanson.

This book also includes a biographical documentary film made by Plywood Pictures, exploring Fujimura’s life and how it influenced the evolution of his artwork throughout his career. The film features interviews with Fujimura, as well as his mentor from Tokyo University of the Arts, art historians, gallerists and colleagues. Music for the film was composed by Susie Ibarra and Clayton Fujimura. Two other Plywood Pictures documentaries are also included on the DVD.

A limited first edition signed by Makoto Fujimura.

"Art and Faith: A Theology of Making" is

Makoto Fujimura’s broad and deep exploration of creativity and the spiritual aspects of “making.” Beautiful and poignant, it offers the perspective of, in Christian Wiman’s words, “an accidental theologian,” one who comes to spiritual questions always through the prism of art.

No refund or return. Shipping can take up to 5 weeks due to Mr. Fujimura's travel schedule.
